We traveled to Sunriver for Memorial Day weekend. Some good friends of ours are getting married and we all (wedding party) stayed in a house down there for the weekend. I took Friday off just so we could “mosey” our way down there. I do have to say out of the truckloads of advice that comes your way when you have kids, the best advice I have gotten so far came from a magazine. It was an article that talked about going on vacation with kids, and it said something like – “the only plans you should make, is to make no plans.” Everything will take more time with a little one. I was prepared for that, so when it took us 6 hours to drive a 3-hour drive I was ok with it. It was also a test for us to see if we could remember everything we “needed.” We did really well, no fatal mistakes like forgetting diapers, the baby or clothes. The only thing that would have been nice was a night light, to make the midnight, 2 am, 4 am, 6 am changes and feeding a little easier. I have to say though, we had our car packed to the hilt, and we used everything we brought. I see an SUV in our future when kid # 2 and beyond comes along. We did a poor job at getting pictures, this one is at Cultus Lake, it was about an hour away from where we were staying. Some people rented canoes and kayaks. I thought Hunter might still be a little young for that, so we just stayed on the shore.
